Yes, a new serie “Meet the makers of Atelier Little Boomerang”. Because without all the talented people we work with there is no impact. We want you to meet all of them and share their unique story. Sorry for the non Dutch, but the interviews will be in Dutch. Meet Sara. Read the full interview on our blog, see link in bio. ...

Never a dull moment when your’e buikding your own sewing atelier. At the moment we’re working on super cool projects for other brands (can not let you know which accept one, see IG stories) and working on a special edition for our own brand! And yes, it is not easy, because the machines are not always our best friends. They also needs some attention once in a while. Our professional and industrial lock machine has a little hic up, but Murphy’s law, our old one too. But Mohammed fixed the problem! ...

Although our focus is building our social atelier we still receive orders to make something special for your little one from your preloved shirts. The deliverytime takes a bit longer, because not everyone can make clothes. Thats the summum of making things. Think twice when and where you buy your clothes. Clothes are the biggest example of handcraft and someone made it who is an artist! Have a lovely weekend♻️ ...

Today is everything back to normal. Kids back to school, so full weeks to make our new dusty red bags. One week of Dutch sun, but you can also use our bag for all other activities, like yoga. And we’re curious, what kind of deodorant do you use? We found @soapwalla. Soapwalla products are made by hand in small batches in their NY studio. Local like we do. They use sustainable, organically grown and even edible ingredients, and no bad chemicals. We also try to take small steps in our sustainable journey. Have a lovely week💚 📷@louizameiking ...

Our atelier is not only about making sustainable and social products. Its also about collaboration and sharing energy with the neighbourhood. We are able to build our atelier, because we’re part of a community center in Amsterdam West, de Tagerijn. People feel at ease and safe in a community center. Meet Ranjit (left) who is responsible for the Tagerijn. He arranges everything in and around the building. He takes care of the people who work in the Tagerijn and supports us building up our atelier. And Kenneth? He supports Ranjit in his work and has always a happy face. We love to be part of this team! Thanks for this experience and learning how to (really) connect with people. 📷photo by @cocoolakunle ...

Back home. Lord, with a family of five we have a lot of laundry. And because we try to live more conscious we try new things, like using green detergent (favourite smell is Fleur de Pommier & Freesia from @ecover_nl, carry our laundry in our own socially made bag and use our dryer less. Result: it takes a bit longer before everything is done and fresh again. But he, small steps always help! ...

SNEAKPEAK INTO THE HUMANS OF ATELIER LITTLE BOOMERANG. “When I am here I forget everything. When I am behind the sewing machine, my head has no room for stress. Worries disappear for a while. I feel at home here and I feel safe. It is fun and nice to be busy with something creative and I am my own boss.” This is a short quote from a special interview with Sharda, or “Sara” for most people who work with her. At the end of this month we will share the whole interview! 📷 by the talented @cocoolakunle ...

Although we’re having fun with our kids and family on a holiday break, we can tell once in a while a short story. A story about our thoughts and choices. Like the reason why we’ve chosen for a circle. The bottom of our bag is a circle. The shape of the circle has been used as a symbol since the beginning of time. It symbolizes Mother Earth and symbolizes being closed in and boundaries. Connection. And that’s what we do: take care of the environment by usings re- and upcycled fabrics and work with talented tailors who have a distance to the labour market because they either have problems with the Dutch language or other challenges why they can not take part in normal jobs. We try to give them structure, friendship and self esteem again. There are no boundaries, each of us is connected💚🌿. ...

This is what we love: two of our socially and handmade products in one image. A skirt made from daddies preloved shirt and our upcycled clutch. It does not only tell the story of sustainability or upcycling, but even more about our atelier. We make different products with talented people in welfare. In this society its about product first, but for us it is always a story of people. And thats what we like: social impact. Lets spread that story together💚 ...

Goodmorning. As you know we will be on holiday, orders will be shipped in August again, but that doesn’t mean we do not have things to share. Like this beautiful image. This is Vanessa. She lives in the Netherlands with her little French family. Yes, she moved from France to the Netherlands. She has a huge drive. She worked for big companies, but wanted to learn Dutch. So she took Dutch classes and joined us to practice her Dutch. And wow, we are so happy she came in our social life. She can sew as the best, has a lot of patience and helps where she can. And not only that, she made us also French quiches and cakes. Now its time for her to move on. We will miss her! But we always stay in contact💚 ...
